Yes. I did say that right. If you saw my entire living room you would know exactly what I mean by that. My daughter, Daisy and I love to thrift shop. Most of my close friends know how much I love owls and that I have a HUGE collection of vintage owl wall hangings. I bet they don't know that I love old phones & old furniture, too. If I owned my own home, it would probably feel and look like you'd gone back in time. I can't paint my apartment walls mustard yellow or avocado green, but I can get as close to retro as my collection of old things will let me.
A few weeks ago, Daisy and I were in a local Goodwill and when I spotted this rocker, I had to have it! The left arm was a little wobbly, but they were only asking 20 bucks for it, so I bought it. It was probably quite comical watching Daisy and me trying to fit it into my Altima, but after 20 minutes or so, we did it! I got it home and fixed the wobbly arm and it is now the chair everyone fights for in my living room. I can't wait to go back and find another old piece to put along side the rocker.
I don't even know what decade this rocker is from, but I do know it's OLD. If you know, leave me a comment on this post.
My other favorite thing is my house phone. Yeah. It really does work and it really is my house phone. I had to teach my kids how to use it! Hilarious the first time my 16 year old tried to make a phone call on it!
It needs a good dusting. I didn't notice that until AFTER I took the photos, but I love this phone! It works great, too. The sound quality is way better than the new phone I bought. My kids are so fascinated by it. They pick it up and dial their cellphones just to play around with it sometimes.
What other interesting things can I bring home? Hmmmmm...we'll just have to see, won't we?
