Savory Black Bean Veggie Burgers

This recipe turned out GREAT. It had the perfect taste and I was even able to chop up my "burger" and make tacos with it. Veggie burgers do not have to be "BLAH" ! With a few choice ingredients, they can be savory and delicious. My kids even LOVED them !

Ingredients :

2 Cups Cooked Black Beans (add salt and 2 cloves of Fresh Garlic while cooking)
2 Cups of Water/Juice from the cooked beans
2 Fresh Cloves of Garlic (Do NOT use the ones from the cooked beans)
1 TableSpoon of Lawry's Season Salt
1 TeaSpoon Cummin
1/2 TeaSpoon Oregano
1/2 TeaSpoon Basil

Blend all these ingredients in a Blender or Food Processor. Place in a Bowl and add 2 Packettes of Onion Soup Mix. Stir with a spoon until well blended. Let sit for about 30 minutes (do not refridgerate).

Yep. Kinda looks like mud, but I promise it isn't !

In Blender or Food Processor, grind one cup of Uncooked Oatmeal. Then place in the bean mixture and stir well. Add half cup at a time of All Purpose Flour stir. If the mixture is too sticky, add more flour. Should be a sticky - NOT RUNNY consistency.

Spoon patties into a frying pan on medium heat (coat bottom of pan with a few tablespoons of Olive Oil). Flatten with the back of the spoon to form patties.

Serve with sauteed mushrooms & onions or however you like. It makes a nice firm meat substitute so the possibilities are endless.

So GOOD !
